The Czechs: 1942 – How those in London came up with the assassination of Heydrich

Czechoslovakia was one of the first countries overcome by the Nazis, but ex-President Beneš did not give up, even while exiled in Britain. It was in London that plans were laid to get rid of the hated Reichsprotektor Heydrich, and were actioned in Prague in 1942 by Czechoslovak paratroopers. The assassination, and the subsequent Nazi repression, drew public attention around the world to the fact that a democratic Czechoslovakia was still alive.
